Vintage - 2 piece Victorian Fretwork for Entry - 1880's
This item SOLD on 3/1/2009 for $800.00

You are looking at a very unique piece of authentic Victorian fretwork. It is primarily comprised of thread-like spools in a interesting design. These two large pieces of fretwork are from the Victorian era (circa 1880) and made of solid oak with the original finish. These fretwork panels are removed from a Victorian home in North Liberty, Indiana that was built by my wife's great-grandfather. Her great-grandfather built the house in the 1880's and the ancestry dates back to President Van Buren. The dimensions for the Side Fretwork piece w/ spindle is 58â? tall x 18â? at the widest point. The plate on the spindle is 10" in diameter. The top Fretwork piece is 6â?? wide x 3â?? tall and connects to top of the side panel. The overall measurement of both pieces is 8' tall by 6' wide. These pieces are in good condition, but they are fragile and rare as not many have survived the removal process. If you have any questions please ask before you bid.
